More Exciting Microsoft Dynamics GP News
WOW… More exciting Microsoft Dynamics GP News! In our most recent blog “The October Release of Microsoft Dynamics GP Is Called “GP Next.”, we celebrated the 38 new features added to Microsoft Dynamics GP in the “GP Next” October release. As if that wasn’t enough good news, there’s more.
The Modern Lifecycle
Beginning with the October 2019 release, Microsoft
Dynamics GP follows the Modern Policy. The Modern Policy offers continuous
support and servicing, including bug fixes, new features, and the latest tax
updates. Customers may stay current by taking at least one of the three yearly
planned Dynamics GP releases. You can read all about it here: NEW
Modern Lifecycle for Dynamics GP.
And you’ll be excited to note that the roadmap for GP updates already extends out to 2024. If you were ever worried about the lifespan of Dynamics GP, it’s time to stop worrying.
Feature Blog Series and Feature of the Day
To follow all of the new
features for Dynamics GP, you can now access the Microsoft
Dynamics GP Feature Blog and the Feature of the Day for insights into how the
new release will create efficiencies and increase productivity.
For example, the October 6th Feature of the Day for Payroll was the ability to reprint an entire group of pay statements as duplicates. This was added to the Payroll Reprint Journals report options. Just select Reprint Payroll posting journals –> Reprint Pay Statements. From there, you can choose an audit trail code on the report option, and the duplicate pay statements will print for all the payments made in that check run.
Lots and Lots of Updates
Stay current by following updates as they’re released. Here are a couple of examples:
And it’s not too soon to start thinking about the 2019 Year-End changes that will be released in November.
Here are the changes we know about so far:
- Fixed Asset Luxury Auto Depreciation
- Payroll 2020 W4 Changes (with new tax tables)
There will be no changes to Payables or Payroll W2s.
End of Support for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015
You knew this would be coming, right? April 2020 marks the end of support. And you know what that means. It’s time to upgrade! We love GP as much as you do. But this is an opportunity to think about moving to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. If you’re running an older version of GP, we should chat.
